Simple Instruction Set (SIS™) Control
Host-to-SME100 Communications
SIS commands consist of one or more characters per field. No special characters are
required to begin or end a command sequence. When a command is valid, the SME100
executes the command and sends a response to the host device. All responses from the
SME100 to the host end with a carriage return and a line feed (CR/LF =
]
), which signals
the end of the response character string. A string is one or more characters.
SIS commands are sent to the SME100 using the following programs.
• DataViewer (see "Using DataViewer" on page 118)
• Telnet (see the "Using Telnet" section on page 123)
SME100-initiated Messages
When a local event such as a front panel selection or adjustment takes place, the SME100
responds by sending a message to the host. No response is required from the host. The
initial message sent by the SME100 is listed here.
